Friends of Science event
| Inertia Technology had an exhibition booth at the Friends of Science event, held on the 2nd of December 2009 in The Hague. The mission of Friends of Science is to discuss the social and political agenda for science in The Netherlands. The event attracted more than 700 visitors, which participated in broad discussion sessions that demonstrated the societal relevance of science, examined the scientific priorities, the organization and financing issues of scientific and applied research. STW annual congress 2009
| Inertia Technology had an exhibition stand at the STW annual congress 2009, organised by the Technology Foundation STW in the Nieuwegein’s Business Center on the 8th of October 2009. The concept and vision of Inertia was presented during the competition for Simon Stevin Gezelprijs, where Dr. Raluca Marin-Perianu obtained the second place. |

AAL Forum 2009
| Within the European project IS-ACTIVE, Inertia Technology participated at the AAL Forum 2009, held between September 29th and October 1st in Vienna. The AAL Forum is established as the platform and meeting point of the European AAL Joint Programme. Inertia patricipated at the exhibition organized within the forum, giving insight on the new technological advances targeted at the stimulation of physical activity of elderly people. |

Research award and nomination

Raluca Marin-Perianu, managing director of Inertia, has been awarded the Christiaan Huygens prize in 2009, for the contribution of her PhD thesis - "Wireless Sensor Networks in Motion" - to the field of ICT. The ceremony will take place on the 7th of October in Oude Kerk, Voorburg.
She is also nominated for the Simon Stevin Gezelprijs 2009, whose winner will be announced during the STW annual congress on the 8th of October. Read more... |

Smart Surroundings final event
| Inertia Technology participated at the Smart Surroundings final event that took place on the 4th of March 2009 in the Atrium of SenterNovem in Den Haag. Smart Surroundings started in 2004 with a budget of 13 million euro as one of the largest research project in the field of future ambient intelligence. The final event marked the succes of the project and highlighted the various developments, exploitation results and technology demonstrations of spin-offs. |
